SORRY NO POSTS THIS WEEK

No posts this week. The man who is like my 'Dad' had a heart attack and underwent 'stent' surgury in the major arteriole that feeds the heart (called the 'Widow-maker'). There was a 98% block on right side and a 75% on the left. He had emergency surgery yesterday afternoon and I've been with him and my 'Mom' (no, not my real parents), et al since yesterday.

FYI: So everyone knows, I haven't stopped writing. I've been in Seattle for the past 7 days helping a friend through a hospital stay due to pulmonary embolisms.

I've also been dealing with legislators in Olympia to ensure that HIV/AIDS and Medically Needy funding isn't cut during the next budget cycle.

New Year, New You?

New Year's Eve 2008... and I'm extremely thankful to have this year behind me. There was good, there was bad... loss and gain.

I'm not looking forward to turning 42 in six months. I don't want to get older. I will fight it every damn way I can!

In a few months things will change a bit more and for that I'm extremely thankful.

This New Year's Eve I can say that my promise to myself to slowly take the weight off is coming to fruition. It's slow and steady but I'm down about 19 pounds but it's taken a few months. It's a slow steady pace but it's happening.

Tonight, I'm spending time with some friends (all straight, ROFL! and yet, a deep, SIGH!) as well. Come midnight, I wish I was holding someone special and giving them a meaningful kiss. At the same time, I'm not alone in this situation (Hugs to those who I won't mention by name! Wish you all had someone as well!)

As the New Year begins, let us hope that the 'change' we sought will come to full circle as well.

Hugs to all...

Happy New Year!
